Saturday, November 5, marked a milestone, the 125th consecutive Black Lives Matter Vigil for Action. Faithful activists have been attending the Vigils since June 2020.

In his weekly BLM Vigil for Action email, Scott Christian wrote:

“If our population fully embraced the broad principles of racial truth, justice, and reconciliation that underpin the slogan BLACK LIVES MATTER, we would also be addressing the challenges facing our nation: anti-democratic Christian nationalism, a growing wealth divide, shrinking support for public institutions, and environmental degradation.

"...I’m proud that the six sponsors of our Vigil for Action will continue promoting dialog among all people and working on issues like health care equality, affordable housing, and excellent public schools—both at the local and state levels.”

The six sponsors of the Vigil are:

Afro-American Historical Association of Fauquier County VA

Coming to the Table - Northern Shenandoah Valley Chapter

League of Women Voters of the Prince William-Fauquier Area

NAACP Fauquier County Branch 7059

Piedmont Race Amity Project

Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy - Northern Piedmont Chapter
